
The Spain based oil and gas giant, Repsol, first came into existence in 1987. The company is currently headquartered in Madrid, Spain, but has operations in numerous countries across the world. Repsol describes itself as a ‘global energy’ enterprise providing a range of ‘Upstream’ and ‘Downstream’ services and products. Currently, the company has a total workforce of approximately 24,000. Repsol has a number of verticals, primarily operating in the fields of oil and natural gas exploration, refinement, production and distribution. Repsol is also heavily invested in power trading and generation initiatives.
Since its inception, Repsol has gone on to develop a large worldwide network that has allowed it to expand significantly. Revenue figures for the company, as per studies carried out in 2013, stand at approximately 56,000 million Euros. Repsol prides itself on embracing the development of sustainable energy models, investing approximately 100 million Euros in R&D each year.
