Born September 14, 1955, Robert Warren “Bob” Dudley is the BP PLC Group CEO and Executive Director. Beforehand, he served as CEO of TNK-BP until he was assigned in 2010 to be the BP executive in charge of the Gulf Coast Restoration Organization in response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill which affects five US states, working with the oil leakage in the Gulf of Mexico. He oversaw the massive cleaning work in the Gulf of Mexico, the cooperation with local and international authorities, informing the public about BP’s activities surrounding the disaster and analyzing the extent of the damage caused by giant oil spill.
On April 6, 2009 he was promoted to managing director of BP PLC, and was entrusted with the oversight of the group’s activities in the American and Asian markets.
On July 27, 2010, the Board of BP decided that Dudley would replace Tony Hayward as BP’s Group Chief Executive as of October 1st, 2010. Dudley was also integrated the board of directors of BP that same year.
